Small white ghosts are everywhere, from Pottery Barn where they are mounted on little stands, to the floral department at Michaels where they can spook up your bouquet. Making your own is too easy if your willing to get a little messy. You can tint the glue if you want special colors, or go basic like I did. If you do a lot of crafting, you probably have everything to make this already.
Supplies:
- old sheet, cut into 10 in x 10 in squares
- Mod Podge
- water
- polyfill
- dowel rod or stick
- ghost form*
- glue gun, scissors, ruler, markers
* I used a Halloween figurine I already owned and old beer tasting glasses to drape the fabric. Use objects that aren’t precious and lay down old newspapers or plastic bags to protect your countertop.
Mix your Mod Podge using a ratio of 2 parts water to 1 part glue. You want it fairly runny as you’ll be immersing the fabric in it. Pour into a shallow pan or plate, and completely soak the fabric, wringing out the excess.
Place a small piece of stuffing in the middle of the square, and carefully place on top of your form, draping the fabric artistically so it’ll look like your ghosts are flying. I had a few corners glue themselves together so check the bottom of the ghosts. Let the fabric dry. I didn’t have any issues with the ghosts gluing themselves to my forms, but double check through the drying process.
Glue the stick to the top of the ghost. Draw a ghost face with markers. Enjoy!
