Ceramic Catchall

This is perhaps the easiest dupe I’ve made so far, and perhaps the most useful. Who doesn’t have random keys, rings, and air pods lying around? Just today I spent a good 20 minutes looking for my headphones. Now the piece I’m basing this on retails for around $90, but I got some FIMO air-dry clay for about $9. For that price you could have one at every entryway.

List:

  • FIMO air dry clay, white (8.8 oz package is what I used)
  • parchment paper
  • rolling pin
  • knife or razor blade
  • sandpaper
  • clear acrylic spray
  • assorted circular items

Roll out about 3 feet of parchment paper. Remove clay from the wrapper and roll out with the pin to about 1/4 inch thickness. Using your knife, carefully cut out a square. Keep the clay on the parchment for the next step. Arrange your circular items under the clay to create the tray’s curves.

Once your tray dries, which took about 3 days for me, sand down any coarse edges and lines. I used spray acrylic on mine, but I think it would have been just fine without it. Enjoy!
