Handcrafted Burlap Wreath Dupe

Truthfully, Pottery Barn has these discounted right now so the savings aren’t as great with other projects, but this is a great thing to make in front of the TV if you are bingeing oh I don’t know, Bridgerton for a couple of hours. This is a very easy beginner project.

  • wreath, size, material your choice (I reused an old burlap wrapped wreath that used to be a very ugly Halloween wreath of mine)
  • 3 spools of ribbon of different designs (2 1/2 in width is what I used)
  • thread, needle, scissors

Mark off your wreath in thirds using pins. For my wreath, I needed about 9 individual pieces of ribbon per section. Choose the first ribbon you’d like to work with, and cut approximately 12 inch long strips. Pleat the ribbon 3 times, and wrap around the wreath, pinning it in the back. Sew the ends of the ribbon to the wreath, doesn’t have to be more than a few stitches, and again in the middle to secure.

Place the next piece of ribbon on top, moving to the left slightly every time until you have covered the entire wreath. The last one you will to tuck in which can be a bother, but otherwise this wreath is super easy. You can glue the ribbon in place instead of sewing, but I find it more messy. Enjoy
